A section of Kaura Modern Market, located opposite Prince and Princess Estate in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), was on Friday night gutted by fire.
TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports the fire, which started at about 11 pm on Friday, burnt over 40 shops, leaving traders counting their losses.
As of the time of filing this report, goods and properties worth millions of Naira have been reduced to ashes, leaving traders in a state of despair.
While the immediate cause of the fire remains a mystery, an eyewitness revealed that it took efforts of the men of the FCT Fire Service to put the fire under control.
Traders, who lost their wares, were seen lamenting at the scene of the fire incident as they wade through the debris left behind by the inferno.
The full extent of the damage is still being assessed. However, it is clear that the fire left a significant impact.
