Nigerian singer, Chuddy K has declared that most Nigeria artistes cannot sing without relying on collaborations with others.

Speaking in a chat with Punch, the ‘Gaga crazy’ singer said: “Some artistes give you difficulties when you want to collaborate with them. These are some of the things I don’t like. I don’t chase my fellow artistes for collaborations. If I ask you to jump on a song and you refuse, I would leave you. I believe in myself. A lot of artistes cannot do music without collaborating with other artistes. A lot of artistes cannot stand on their own; they need collaborations to bring them out. They rely on other people’s strength. I do my own music with my God-given talent. A lot of artistes have used lyrics from my songs but I won’t call them out because I have also been inspired by other artistes.”

Advising young artistes on how to handle their finances, he said: “I have another stream of income asides music; it is deadly not to have one. It is good to have a backup. If you are an artiste that is making waves on the scene at the moment, it is good to have one or two businesses that can help you fuel your daily living. The music industry is very wild. If you are not careful, you would get lost in it. It is better to have that discipline and learn how to manage yourself. Cut your coat according to your size. Even if you are making a million naira every day, you cannot be number one forever.”
