Chioma Obiadi becomes 40th Miss Nigeria

The Miss Nigeria pageant was held at the Eko Hotel Convention & Suites, Victoria Island in Lagos, last night amidst pomp and pageantry.

Chioma Obiadi, an undergraduate of Nnamdi Azikiwe University studying Geology, was crowned the 40th queen of Miss Nigeria. She represented Anambra State during the competition.Chioma takes over from Lessi Peter, the outgoing queen

Miss Chioma, who recently represented Nigeria at the 2016 Miss Earth beauty pageant in the Philippines, beat 36 other contestants to clinch the winning prize.

The elated Chioma promises to do her very best during her reign.

“I promise to be the best in my capacity as the beauty queen. Nigerians are expecting and the kind of queen they desire has emerged.

Today is a great day for me being crowned as Miss Nigeria and I want to keep pushing because this is not my first time in the competition.

I was confident that I could become the next Miss Nigeria, so, I tried to put in my best. I thank everyone that has contributed to my success, my parents, friends and colleagues and my course mates, God bless you all.”

Aside from the title, she also won an all-expense paid trip to France.
