Vulnerably beautiful singer , Sandra Ifudu got many talking recently when she released her own version of Davido’s trending song, ‘If’. The curvy and sexy entertainer also released a music video for the song which is generating a myriad of comments on social media. The video has over 5,000 views on Sandra’s Instagram page.
In the song, the talented singer made Davido an offer saying:” If you tell me say you love me o, my booby my booty na your own o baby, with that money for your account o, Versace and Gucci for my body o. I can’t not do garagara for you, I cannot do serere o, I cannot do shakara o eh”
Speaking in an interview with TheNewsGuru, the singer said: ”My love for the song made me do a cover. I figured it will be a good publicity for my brand.”
When asked if it got her the attention she craved, she said:”Yes! I did it to draw people’s attention and yes it worked! “
On the criticism she got after unveiling the video on social media, she said:” Of course before you put out that kind of music, you should be ready for criticisms. I expected worse but the commendations were far more than the criticisms”
She also stated that though Davido hasn’t endorsed her cover of the song, she is happy with the attention it has gotten her. Hear her:” I didn’t really do it to get an endorsement from him. I did it for my own publicity and I think it worked. Many more people know me now. This cover will usher in my next single. I should drop it by next month. One of Nigeria’s biggest pop stars collaborated with me on the song, so watch out”.
