Popular singer, Tiwa Savage has said that she started out doing music late. The ‘Koroba’ singer made this known in an interview with Bounce Radio.
According to her:”I look back and I feel that I stated late.I was 31 when I started but by then I was very grounded.I think that is where I would attribute my humility to. Fame didn’t come to me when I was young and impressionable. I had lived by then and I have seen artistes come and go and I have seen how fickle the fans can be sometimes. Starting late actually gave me a stronger foundation”.
In an industry where singers come and go, Savage has strived to remain relevant.
On the secret of her success, the sexy songstress said:”I don’t know what I do differently, it’s God’s grace.I cannot say anything else. You cannot fight God’s grace or destiny. Aside from that, I know I work really hard. People have no idea. They probably see the made up pictures online, but I spend hours, days and nights in the studio. When I am not in the studio, I am at home, thinking and studying, trying to work on my craft, trying to work on my live performances”.
Asked if she has ever been tempted to cross-over in order to garner international appeal, she said:”I do want to cross-over, but I want to cross over being myself. Initially when I started TJ(Teebillz) encouraged me to be a lot more sexy and girlie, it worked kudos to him for that. Now, I feel like I have a second chance. Like, this is me.I can decide to look like a tomboy or look sexy”.
