The family of the late Nigerian gospel singer, Aduke Ajayi, popularly known as Aduke Gold, has officially announced the date for her burial.
Ajayi’s family, in the statement, said a candle night would be held for the late gospel singer on Wednesday, August 21, followed by an artist night on Thursday, 22nd, and burial service at the Africa church grammar school on Friday, August 21.
The obituary reads: “With total submission to the will of God, we announce the death of Aduke Morounkola Ajayi, who slept in the lord after a brief illness on Monday, August 12 2024.
“On Wednesday, August 21, 6m Candle Night @Ayonleye Primary School Idiogbon Bus- stop College Road, Ifako Ijaiye Ogbo. Thursday, August 22 2024, Artist Night and Friday, August 23 2024, Lying instate /burial service at Lagos Africa church grammar school collage Bus-stop collage road Ogba Lagos.”
Recall that the singer’s unexpected death sparked reactions from her fans and colleagues in the industry.
The late singer’s brother, pastor Ajayi Aderogbo, had earlier, in a statement, revealed the cause of the late singer’s death; according to him, Aduke Gold died at the University College Hospital, UCH, Ibadan, on Monday, August 12, 2024.
He confirmed that the music star died of cervical cancer, issuing a stern warning to those spreading unverified information to stop.
He said, “Whoever is saying what is not should stop it; our daughter was ill; she had cervical cancer; she was taken to UCH in Ibadan and unfortunately, she died. The information spreading around is false.
“Whoever is saying she died of fibroid surgery should stop it. Our daughter was ill, and to the glory of God, she rested on Monday, 12th of August. It is always ideal that you get information from the right source.”
