The annual festival to commemorate the life and times of Nigerian musical icon, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti opened on Monday 15th of October 2018 with several music performances from budding and top artistes.
Felabration is an annual music festival conceived in 1998 by Yeni Anikulapo-Kuti in memory and celebration of her father Fela, also a human rights activist known for pioneering the Afrobeat genre of music.
It was a night of entertainment and excitement as the New Afrika Shrine played host to artistes like Koker, Qdot, Project Fame alumni Olawale Klever Jay and others.
The night began with an Afrobics competition which was won by young dancer Onome Utogo. Subsequently the likes of Koker, Olawale, Qdot, Klever Jay and others thrilled the crowd.
Another highlight of the opening night was when Femi Kuti thrilled the crowd with his excellent performance.
