” I had a massive chip on my shoulder. Two years into the journey, I was frustrated and things were not working as fast as I thought they should. Things were not working out as I had planned. On this particular day, I called my mentor, Amaka Igwe and I told her I needed to see her. I was in an emotional turmoil.

“I got to her office and I began to weep. I complained about not getting work and being passed over. Amaka just kept quite and gave me time to pour my mind. She was looking at me curiously like I was some specimen. After I was done talking, she said :’They haven’t started playing your music. When they start playing your music, na you go dance tire’. For some reason, that resonated with me. She was trying to tell me, it wasn’t yet my time. Fortunately for me, I had other skills. I learnt how to produce and present from Patrick Doyle”.
