Veteran actor, Jude Chukwuka has been in the news for singing Naira Marley’s hit song ‘Mafo’. The video got the attention of Naira Marley who reportedly gifted him N1million Naira.
Reacting to those who criticized him for singing the song of a controversial artiste like Marley, Chukwuka said the ‘Inside Life’ singer has done nothing wrong.
“I was discussing with a friend of mine this morning who was querying why I should encourage Naira Marley. And I told him that Naira Marley has not done anything wrong. If a guy who is a masters degree holder sees a system that is broken and he decides to take advantage of it, should he be blamed? In my own case, he has been a positive influence to the project I have at hand”, he told Independentng.
Asked If he is a proud Marlian, the talented role interpreter said”I am internally a proud old Marlian. Let me tell you why, Naira Marley is currently the biggest influencer in the music circle. If we have quality leadership, the government is supposed to look for ways to use him to the advantage of the people. If he gets the government endorsement that anything that flows from Naira Marley’s mouth should become law to some people, why not engage him to say “Stop corruption’’. But we are a non-creative society; we don’t know how to turn things to the benefit of the society. All the things Naira Marley does, attracts people to him. The government can use him to pass the right message but our government is bereft of creativity”.
