Nigerian gospel rapper and talk-show host, Bukola Afolayan a.k.a Bouqui says she recently contracted the dreaded COVID-19.
Taking to her Instagram page, the rapper said:”I was sick with COVID-19, I’m sorry I didn’t tell anybody, I hate pity. After the crazy wave of all the stuff you read about (yes they are true), the depression, the loneliness, the headaches, the invisible thing hold your throat and nose, the disillusionment… all of that….I decided to find a project to occupy my mind. So I built a gym. How did I do. Ordered the equipments and set everything up myself.. a NEEDED DISTRACTION.
So with all the weakness and stuff I knew if I lay down…. I could die”.
Speaking further, Bouqui noted that flashes of all her negative life’s experiences occupied her mind during her travail.
“The major thing that stood out to me with COVID was the flashes of all the negative things that happened in my life..the regrets. I had embarrassing thoughts from 25 years ago grip me and I started to relive the experiences. Till I said NO MORE. I decided to occupy my mind. Voila – BOUQUI’S PLACE GYM. The only social thing I do. So this is goodbye to my social life. Staying at home by choice is not the same thing as having to stay at home. Check on people if you don’t see them. Not only when you need something.
Well I’m getting better now. The wave is over. BOUQUI’S PLACE will be back soon. Please stay at home if you don’t have to go out. I just conquered the most deadly virus in man’s history. I’ll drink to that. ?. That’s nonalcoholic by the way”.
