Nollywood actress, Iretiola Olusola Doyle, popularly known as Ireti Doyle, a mother of six children, has revealed that she had her first child at the age of 19, as she confirmed her divorce from a veteran broadcaster, Patrick Doyle.
According to the actress, who made the revelation during an interview with Chude, there is a time to be silent and a time to speak.
Ireti noted that she is no longer married to film producer and actor husband Patrick, with whom she shares six children.
“We are officially divorced” she confirmed.
Ireti posted a clip of the interview on her Instagram page.
The 55-year-old explained that she had her first child at the age of 19, stressing that “she had no business being married at that time.”
“When you’re an adult, it’s not a life and death situation…there are some situations that are way beyond your control. The truth of the matter is that I had no business being married at that time, period! let’s not talk go to the choice of who I married.
“I can’t sacrifice my life in the alter of your imagination or your fantasy. In this age where everything one says is scrutinized and quartered; it takes a certain level of trust to bare intimate details .. we are here now,” she wrote.
TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports that Ireti, who also is an entertainer, TV presenter, writer and public speaker, produced and presented her own fashion and lifestyle show titled Oge With Iretiola for ten years and at different times anchored several television shows, like Morning Ride, Today On STV and Nimasa This Week on Channels TV.
She was nominated at the 2016 Africa Movie Academy Awards in the Best Actress In A Leading Role category for her portrayal of Dr. Elizabeth in the Ebony Life film Fifty.
Ireti also appeared in The Arbitration and The Wedding Party, Other films include Dinner and Madam President. On television, she has created characters on shows like Fuji House Of Commotion, Dowry, and Gidi Up.
