American Model, Nicole Murphy has declared that she regrets kissing married movie director, Antoine Fuqua.
Back in July, the mother of five and ex-wife of Eddy Murphy was pictured in Italy kissing Fuqua, who is married to Lela Rochon.
In an interview on “The Wendy Williams Show” the model shared her side of the story.
“It was a frozen in time thing. Trust me, I wish it didn’t happen,” Murphy told host Wendy Williams. “It was a moment where I should’ve thought more through the situation. Made better judgments… It’s something that I apologize for.”
“It happened… I was at the pool, we were on a different timezone, I was having a hard time staying awake, I was drinking an espresso,” she added. “I regret it, and I apologize for it. And I am a human being, it was a mistake.”
Murphy also claimed that a statement released on her behalf after the kiss was not from her and added that she didn’t know Fuqua’s wife prior to the kiss.
‘I did not release that statement, Wendy,’ said the star.
She also said that she did not know Antoine was still in a romantic relationship with his wife Lela and she was under the impression they had split.
‘At the moment, maybe I had a different impression of [their marriage],’ she said.
Nicole told the audience to do their ‘research’ before kissing a man. She made it seem as if she didn’t know he was still with Lela.
And she added she is not the bad girl here, adding she did not end Antoine and Lela’s marriage.
At that point Wendy encouraged Nicole to look directly in the camera and say sorry to Lela, 55.
‘Darling, it was a mistake,’ Nicole said. ‘I apologize.’
‘Without going into the entire situation, I want to apologize to my family, and to Lela and the Fuqua family for what transpired,’ she said.
‘It was not my intention to be in this situation. I do not condone women kissing or interacting in anyway inappropriately with a married man. I too was once married and I would never intentionally undermine another woman, despite what has been written.’
