Popular singer, Fireboy DML has said he struggled with low –esteem as a child. The ‘Peru’ crooner said that fame can mess one up mentally, adding that being famous makes one feel like a god.
Speaking in an interview with Chude Jideonwo, he said: “Fame is like money, it’s like sex. They can get to you and mess you up mentally. They can affect your thoughts and manipulate you into doing things. You feel on top of the world and you just make mistakes. When you are famous, and you make mistakes, you are making mistakes for everyone to see. It’s different from when just a normal person makes a mistake and you can quickly correct them. There are some mistakes that are very costly and I don’t want to make a costly mistake.I am always very careful fame is very dangerous. Fame is powerful, sometimes you feel Iike a god. You are talking to a person and the person is even shaking”.
Asked what he does during his down moments, the YBNL artiste said: “I cry, pray during my down moments”.
Going down memory lane, Fireboy revealed that he was a lonely kid growing up, adding that he had a low self-esteem at some point.
“I was a lonely kid, I had the love of my parents and my brothers at some point. I struggled with low self-esteem”.
