Fashion influencer and actor, Denola Grey has recounted how he was bullied while in secondary school.The handsome style icon made this known in an interview with media personality, Chude Jideonwo.
In his words: “I found it easier to talk to girls and get along with them because they were more emotionally intelligent .They called me ‘barbie’ for two years in the boys dormitory. I hated it, I didn’t have a good time at all. I was homesick”, he recounted.
Speaking further, the media personality said he finds it hard to accept compliments, adding that he is his own critic.
“Compliments have always been hard for me to accept because we are our own worst critics. I was not giving myself permission to accept what was.It made me very uncomfortable and I also found that in a way its a blessing because it showed me people trying to get close to me for the wrong reasons”.
Commenting on the state of the nation, Denola said: “There has been so much blood that has been shed in this country in the name of greed”.
Denola Grey acted alongside RMD and Eku Edewor in the TV series, Castle & Castle, has also featured in movies like ‘Bling Lagosians’ and ‘Day of destiny’.
