Kanye West, Joel Osteen to collaborate for national tour

Kanye West, American hip-hop artiste and Joel Osteen, US televangelist, are considering teaming up for a ‘Sunday Service’ national tour following the success of their collaboration in Houston.

Sunday Service, a gospel group led by West, has always performed on Sundays since January 2019. The group, however, staged a revolutionary event on September 27, at Osteen’s Lakewood Church.

According to TMZ, West and Osteen had talked about embarking on a possible national tour following the success of the group’s previous performance,

In a forthcoming event, which is billed to hold on May 2, 2020, at Yankee Stadium, West will be taking to the stage with the gospel group while Osteen handles the sermons.

Although West is yet to make official revelations as regards the forthcoming tours, reports have it that the next venue will be the Guaranteed Rate Field in Chicago, Kanye’s hometown, in an event expected to follow in September.

On the back of recent successes, more sources were also quoted to have said that the duo are looking to expand the shows put on in Houston to cover Miami, Detroit, and Los Angeles ⁠— although no decision has been reached yet.

Kanye recently shocked fans after he suddenly announced his conversion to Christianity, adding that God had been calling him for long but the devil had distracted him.

The 44-year-old singer also released his first-ever gospel album entitled ‘Jesus is King’, performed some tracks in the project to inmates, and announced a sequel to the groundbreaking project in a move that shocked fans.
