Plus size advocate and actress, Doris Anyanwu in this interview with TheNewsGuru opens up on the gains, pains of being a plus size damsel in Nigeria.
What has your experience been like as a plus-size lady in Nigeria?
It’s crazy being a plus size lady in Nigeria. You face lots of body shaming and tongue lashing from hypocrites who prefer to be fans of fat women from other parts of the world .You can imagine a Nigerian man getting married to a very fat white lady and even flaunting. However, that same person finds it difficult to get married to a fat lady in Nigeria. As a result of that, I turned down lots of movie roles and took a bow for a while because I could not deal with that madness. Also, a guy who was meant to get married to me said his sister told him not to get married to me because I might get fatter my first child. I have lost jobs too.
Do plus size women get more attention from men?
Of course we get more attention from men. On several occasions I have experienced situations where I stepped into a place and I literally stole the show. I have also experienced where a guy is with his slim girlfriend end up staring at me. Its embarrassing for her you know . Men stare at our massive boobs and bum.
Are you under pressure to lose weight?
Not at all. I’m not under any form of pressure to lose weight. Why should I lose weight? Not like I’m sick or something. Nobody has the right to tell me to lose weight .My weight isn’t anybody’s business. If a skinny lady can flaunt her body, as a plus size lady, I should be able to do same too.
There is a belief that plus size women are better in bed how true is that?
How do I explain this? What do you think? Nothing compares to a luscious plus size lady on your bed. The experience is heavenly. She is a full course meal. As a man you might get confused and don’t know where to start from. You see yourself having countless orgasms before you get to the promise land .
