Mother of popular Nigerian singer regains freedom 18 days after abduction

The mother of the renowned Nigerian musician and former President Muhammadu Buhari’s praise singer, Dauda Adamu, also known as Rarara, Hajiya Hauwa’u Adamu has regained freedom.

It would be recalled that Rarara’s mother was abducted by bandits about three weeks ago.

A source told reporters that her health condition had significantly deteriorated while in captivity, with high blood pressure being a major concern.

Following her release, the singer villager, Kahutu erupted in celebration upon hearing the news.

The singer’s mother has been taken to a hospital in Abuja for medical treatment.

A few of the locals, who had a telephone conversation with Daily Trust, shared their joy regarding the singer’s mother’s release.

Habib Isyaka said, “I am so happy today that Mama has finally regained her freedom. I am happy our mother has returned to us.

“Though I haven’t seen her yet, you cannot imagine my feelings. Honestly, today I am happy.”

“I cannot express my feelings today. I am praying for her quick recovery because I learnt she is seriously ill.

“I want to use this opportunity to congratulate my brother Rarara over the release of Mama. We, the people of Kahutu village are happy with this development,” another resident, who gave her name as Ibrahim Bello Na Kahutu, said.

TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) recalls that the bandits had initially demanded N1 billion ransom.

It is, however, unclear whether any ransom was paid for her release.
