Veteran actress, Gloria Anozie-Young is one of the few role interpreters of her generation still making waves.Married to a revered actor, Nobert Young, the actress in a recent interview with Tvc averred that though they quarrel, they are friends.
“We are friends, we go through the quarrel gamut .We enjoy the quarrel and arguing .Even if we cannot find something, we will always look for something to argue about. He is much older than I am, less than ten years. He understands because of his maturity and playfulness, it works. He always makes me laugh. These little things are what people don’t seem to understand. You are in a marriage, as the female you have your role to play. You must play your role. As the male, you must play your role and then you must complement each other somehow. That’s how it’s been working for me”.
Asked about her opinion on new Nollywod and old Nollywood, she said:”Nollywood has grown in leaps and bounds.Suprisingly considering the kind of terrain we are in, for the fact that we are able to climb those mountains, it’s really been wonderful. This idea about new and old Nollywood doesn’t make sense to me because when you are coming into the industry, you met some people there. So when did I become old Nollywood and those that met me become new Nollywood?I think it has something to do with the kind of social media we have now. When we started, we didn’t even have GSM.There wasn’t anything like that. A lot of people who come in have been helped by their platforms on social media”.
