Nigerian comedian and actor, Ebiye Victor has been criticised on social media after he shared a new skit in which he subtly lashed 9ice and Burna Boy for not winning the Grammys.
Recall that 9ice had promised in his ‘Street Credibility’ song that he would bring home the Grammy.
The controversial comedian took to his Instagram page on Monday to share a video where he portrayed how 9ice would have reacted to Burna Boy’s loss to Angelique Kidjo at this year’s Grammys.
In the video, the comedian can be seen in a car listening to ‘Street Credibility’, a hit track off ‘Gongo Aso’, an album released by 9ice in 2008.
In the lyrics of the song, the talented singer vowed to “bring back home a Grammy” — a feat he has been unable to achieve till date.
Ebiye, making an impression of 9ice, then receives a call where he is informed of Burna Boy’s defeat and can be seen celebrating after the call while ‘Gongo Aso’, another song off the same 2008 album, can be heard blasting through the speakers.
The skit has, however, triggered a heated debate on social media platforms especially Twitter, where users are condemning the comedian.
9ice you’re joking about built a brand that has lasted long, but you a failed comedian, sexist idiot and all round never do well want to throw jokes? Are you mad? ?

Notting Hill Carnival in 2011 and 2012 in the UK, over 25 artists combined, 9ice stole the show on both occasions. 9ice was very very good, just like Dagrin (RIP).
I understand these artists only have a few years to ‘shine.’ But we won’t forget how good they were.

Ebiye is funny but that skit ain’t right
Shading 9ice and Burna at the same. The message he’s trying to pass across in the skit is that “You’re happy your friend didn’t win”
That’s a very bad concept to think of.
