Years before Omotola became a household name , Regina Askia Williams was the reigning queen in Nollywood.The former Nollywood actress and beauty queen has become an American citizen, 16 years after moving to the US.
The 49-year-old University of Lagos graduate proclaimed her new status in a message posted on Facebook on Friday.
She wrote in excitement: ”And so today I made it official, I took the oath and became a citizen of the United States of America. Empowered and armed for the full pursuit of life, liberty and happiness” she said.
The former Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria (MBGN) titleholder relocated to the United States in 2001.
She survived the 9/11 terrorists attack on the World Trade Center in New York City three months after her relocation.
