British-Nigerian singer Olusegun Adeola Samuel also known as Seal is under investigation for “sexual battery” in the United States after a woman made accusations against him, Los Angeles police confirmed.
Seal’s former neighbour in his LA home, Tracey Birdsall who is a popular actress filed a report against the singer at the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department for sexual battery.
She asserts that the assault occurred a year ago but she did not report it. She revealed that she only decided to report it after she saw Seal’s comment on Oprah and Harvey Weinstein where he cheered women to share their own stories of sexual misconduct.
TMZ reports that Tracey claims that the singer came on to her in the fall of 2016 when she went over to retrieve a salad spinner since they had been close friends until the incident. She says that he lunged at her and when she asked what he was doing he replied: “I’m kissing you!” She then added that he belittled her outfit of a tank top and shorts, saying that she was asking for it.
The singer has however fervently denied the claim. His representative in a chat with Rolling Stone said: “Seal vehemently denies the recent accusations made against him by a former neighbour for alleged misconduct of more than a year ago. He intends to vigorously defend himself against these false allegations.”
