Eclectic Nigerian singer and music producer, Terry G has opened up on why he dumped secular music for gospel
Terry who started out as an instrumentalist in church noted that he was forced to go into secular music because he wasn’t helped as an instrumentalist playing in churches.
The ‘Gingah your swagga’ crooner made this known during a recent Instagram live interview with rapper, Bouqui.
“I was a gospel musician. I only backslid because I wanted more for the family. I am the first born in my family. There is no church I haven’t played for, but how many of them helped me.They would keep encouraging and encouraging. I had to go fend for myself”.
Terry also opened up on the role Faze played in his career.
“I wanted to meet 2face but I met Faze and he taught me a lot. He is so humble. That is why the industry is the way it is today. Some people are talented but they don’t have leadership. I learnt from the right source.I might portray a different image, but I love to celebrate people”.
