Bubbly veteran actress, Kate Henshaw has opened up on her first movie appearance. The talented role interpreter during a recent Instagram Live chat with her colleague, Judith Audu, noted that her first appearance in a movie was scary.
According to her: “My first movie appearance was scary. I didn’t know what was expected of me. All I knew was that I needed to get my lines and I won an award for the movie.
I meant to be in this industry, this platform that I have, as an entertainer and actor, it opens you up to so many things”.
Speaking further, Henshaw added that the entertainment industry used to be seen as an industry for drop-outs.
“ Many years back, the entertainment industry was viewed as an industry for drop-outs .I wanted to do music and my father said over his dead body will I be a musician .Because we have kept at it, people now see it as an industry they want their children to be part of”.
Sharing some of the lessons she has learnt on the job over the years, the award winning entertainer said: “In dealing with humans in our day to day life, I have learnt to be human and put myself in their shoes. In our industry, a lot of people bring ‘self’ into what they are doing. At the end of the day, it is not about you, it is about the character you are playing”.
Stating her opinion on winning awards, she said: “It is good to win awards, but if you don’t win, it does not mean you are not good”.
