Toyin Abraham, Kehinde Bankole lead #EndSARS protest in Ibadan

Toyin Abraham, Nollywood actress and movie producer, has taken to the streets of Ibadan, Oyo state capital, to partake in the ongoing protest against the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).

The development comes less than 24 hours after the filmmaker came under attack on Twitter for promoting ‘Fate of Alakada’, her new movie, amid the demonstrations against the police unit.

Filmmaker and director, Niyi Akinmolayan and actress, Kehinde Bankole were also part of the protest.

Abraham wrote on Twitter : “I am more than my movies, I am an instrument for change and a destiny implementer. You can do this. Love you all. #EndSARS,” she wrote on Twitter.

TheNewsGuru recalls that Frank Mba, spokesman of the police, had earlier maintained that SARS cannot be scrapped as the unit remains crucial to tackling crimes in the country.

“What we need to do is to reform SARS and make them responsive, responsible and make them to work in accordance with laid down procedures,” he had said.

“We need them to continue to respond to violent crimes. We need them to continue to respond to armed robberies. We need them to continue to respond to kidnappings.”
