Folarin Falana, Nigerian entertainer better known as Falz, says Nigerians cannot continue to endure the problems they are currently facing.
The sought after entertainer made this known during his session at the just concluded 2018 edition of The Future Awards Africa.
In his words: “It is compulsory for us to go out and vote. We cannot continue to live like this. It is not compulsory for us to settle for a lesser evil. There are many more options”.
In an interview with Africa’s Finest, a magazine by Guaranty Trust Bank, the ‘This is Nigeria’ singer said social consciousness is part of his brand.
“Socio-political consciousness has always been in my music. Initially, that consciousness wasn’t very pronounced because it was laced with a lot of humour because before the time of ‘This Is Nigeria’, there were tracks like ‘Senator’, ‘My People’ and ‘Wehdone Sir’. So, yes, consciousness has always been a part of my brand”.
On 27 October 2017, his 27th birthday, Falz released a new album titled 27 to celebrate the day. This was a surprise album, as it was not promoted before its release.
It contained 17 tracks including hit singles like “Bhad Baddo Baddest”, “Wehdone sir”, and “Something light”. It featured prominent music acts like Davido, Olamide, Burna Boy, Wande Coal, Maleek Berry, Sir Dauda, Medikal, Terry Apala, and Ycee.
