Dancehall singer, John Asiemo a.k.a Daddy Showkey is a music icon you cannot help but admire. Since discovering his musical aptitude in the slums of Ajegunle, the self-proclaimed Ghetto Soldier has continue to inspire the youths of Ajegunle.

The Galala crooner, who went on a brief hiatus after going through some terrible experiences, is back with a new song titled Showkey Again. The bubbly entertainer is pleased with the acceptance and support given to the song so far.

“I just released the song but I am impressed with its acceptance. I am always with my phone checking to see people’s responses. People have been supportive so far” he told TheNewsGuru.

Speaking on the state of the nation, the award winning musician advised Nigerians to stop raining curses on the country.”We have to pray for this country. Whatever affects Nigerians affects me. There is this question I want to ask:” Was there ever a time during your childhood that your parents told you Nigeria was good? Na our swear dey affect this our country. We need to pray for this our country.”

Recall that Daddy Showkey was one of the people who settled the rift between Harrysong and Five Star Music. When asked to state how felt reconciling both parties, he said:” I don’t like talking about such issues. I am not like some pastors who share member’s problems in their messages. I am not kind of person. Whatever I do, it’s done because God wants me to do it. My mum usually tell me this:’ If a person does not have someone who can correct him, such a person is headed for destruction.”

Showkey known to speak up against injustice via his music, told TheNewsGuru why he hasn’t condemned President Buhari.

In his words:” I was one of the people who protested during the Occupy Naija protest. Who will see something wrong and not say it? On the other hand, If I condemn the present government, people will say it’s because I am a supporter of Jonathan. I can recall that I was shot after the subsidy protest at Agidingbi Filling Station. I was shot inside my car” he reveals.
