Popular Nigerian singer, Wizkid known offstage as Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun on Thursday marked the birthday of his late mother, Jane Dolapo Balogun.
The singer via the microblogging platform, X formerly Twitter mourned her mother’s demise, describing it as surreal.
Recall, the singer’s mother died on August 18, 2023, in London and was laid to rest in Lagos.
In his caption, Wizkid noted that since his mother’s death, nothing made sense anymore.
He added that his late mother’s smile, hugs and kisses is all a memory he will never forget.
He wrote; “Happy birthday love of my life! Miss you everyday. First one without you here feels unreal. Nothing makes sense without you mama! Life is empty without you. Continue to watch over us ! My heart is broken forever !
“Love you love love you MORAYO mi. Your smile is all a memory I will never forget. Your laugh! Your hugs and kisses. I miss you dearly!”
In addition to his message, the singer shared a video of his mother, captioning the post, “Morayo lives on.”
Earlier this year, the ‘Essence’ hitmaker announced that his forthcoming album Morayo is dedicated to his mother.
