Fresh tragedy hits Wigwe University as registrar dies mysteriously

Ulonna Inyama, the Registrar of Wigwe University has died under mysterious circumstances in Abuja hospital.

TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports that Inyama was undergoing treatment for fibroids before her unfortunate death.

A family source disclosed that the deceased suffered a fatal reaction after receiving the wrong blood type while undergoing treatment for fibroids.

“We were told that a wrong blood transfusion led to her death after losing blood due to fibroid complications.

“She was later referred to another hospital where she passed on due to a worsening condition from the complications,” the family source said.

Ulonna’s profile

According to the details on Wigwe University portal, Inyama was chief personnel officer and head of strategic communications/special duties in the office of the executive secretary, National Universities Commission (NUC) before joining Wigwe University.

With over two decades in NUC, Inyama honed her skills in university regulation and administration in other directorates of the commission, including the directorates of quality assurance and academic planning.

She also served in several projects, varied policy and strategic committees, working groups and communities of practice within the Nigerian university system.

A bilingual administrator, Inyama holds a first-class honours degree in French and a master’s degree in international development from the University of Birmingham, specialising in governance, conflict, and social reconstruction.

Recall, late Herbert Wigwe, the founder of the university and the former group chief executive officer of Access Holdings, his wife Chizoba and son Chizi died in a helicopter crash in California, United States on February 9.
