The letter also conveyed that Iluyomade would be replaced by Pastor Charles Kpandei from RCCG Resurrection Parish of Region 11 with immediate effect.

Iluyomade’s suspension as senior pastor of the City of David comes months after his wife Siju’s elaborate 60th birthday celebration held at Eko Hotel and Suites.

Recall, Siju IIuyomade held a lavish party a week after the former group chief executive officer of Access Holdings, Herbert Wigwe, his wife, Chizoba and son Chizi and several others died in a helicopter crash in California, United States on February 9.

The late Wigwe’s were staunch members of the parish before their tragic demise.

Iluyomade’s wife’s celebration was publicly criticized by many on social media.

It was not immediately clear if Iluyomade was relieved of his position as special assistant to the RCCG general overseer on Christian social responsibility through His Love Foundation. A source, however,  told Punch that the pastor was suspended on two issues bordering on the audit of the church and his alleged resistance to be transferred from the parish.

“The church’s governing council met on two issues, the issue of an audit of the church where questions were asked and the issue that the pastor allegedly resisted transfer,” the source who craved anonymity said, adding that Iluyomade will resume at the church’s headquarters when his suspension elapses.
