Nigerian king, Oba Adejuyigbe stabbed to death in America

Oba Adejuyigbe Adefunmi II, an American-based monarch has died after he was stabbed to death by his sister during a heated argument.

According to the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office, Oba Adefumii of Oyotunji African village in Beaufort County, Southern Carolina, United States of America, was stabbed on Monday, July 29, 2024.

The BCSO communication centre received a report of the 47-year-old victim who was stabbed around 2:45 p.m. at the village, located at Bryant Lane.

Adefunmi II was taken to a nearby hospital, where he passed away from his wounds.

The suspect, identified as Akiba Kasale Meredith, 53, had left the area on foot and was found after a short time.

Meredith was charged with murder and taken to the Beaufort County Detention Center as investigation is ongoing.

The deceased in an interview with Punch in 2017, revealed that he has seven wives.

“My wives are in Canada, Oyotunji, Virginia and different places,” he said.
