Chris Terfa, a humanitarian worker and Executive Director, Concerned Youth Development Initiative, CYDI, has been killed in Makurdi, the Benue state capital.
TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) learnt that the unknown gunmen shot Terfa on Friday evening around Logo community after tracking him to his office.
Eyewitness who spoke on condition of anonymity, said that the deceased who has been away for a while, came back just few days ago to attend to official matters when the unfortunate incident occurred.
Terfa was immediately transported to the hospital after the assailants left, but he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
He said: “Nobody knew that he was around let alone being shot. It was the alarm that was raised that attracted neighbours but before anybody got there his killers had escaped.
“He was found in his pool of blood when people rushed to the office. He was immediately rushed to the hospital where he was confirmed dead.
“The information we got was that one of his staff led the assailants to the deceased who has been in Civil Society for a long time.”
The state command of the Nigeria Police Force has yet to issue any official statement regarding the incident as of the time of filing this report.
