US singer, Taylor Swift has revealed that Andrea Swift, her mother, has been diagnosed with a brain tumour while still undergoing treatment for cancer.
The 30-year-old songster opened up on her family struggles in a recent interview with Variety — ahead of the January 31 release date for ‘Miss Americana’, her forthcoming documentary.
While she had previously bared the shocking details of her mother’s battle with the terminal disease, Swift further admitted that her family doesn’t know what (treatment) will happen next.
“I mean, we don’t know what is going to happen, we don’t know what treatment we’re going to choose. It just was the decision to make at the time, for right now, for what’s going on,” she said.
“Everyone loves their mom; everyone’s got an important mom. But, for me, she’s really the guiding force. Almost every decision I make, I talk to her about it first.”
“Obviously it was a really big deal to ever speak about her illness. She was going through chemo, and that’s a hard enough thing for a person to go through.
“So it’s just been a really hard time for us as a family. While she was going through treatment, they found a brain tumor.
“And the symptoms of what a person goes through when they have a brain tumor is nothing like what we’ve ever been through with her cancer before.”
TheNewsGuru recalls that Swift while delivering a recent speech, opened up on how she contended with the toxicity that accompanies the “undue privilege” bestowed on male stakeholders in the music scene.
Swift noted that the harsh condemnation from her male rivals as well as other consumers of her works had almost crushed her career as a successful vocalist in the global showbiz scene.
