The 2004 set of Command Day Secondary School, Ojo has pulled resources together to renovate classrooms
Spokesperson of the ‘2004 Alumni Association’, Igene Airus Alex who spoke with TheNewsGuru said the need to give back to their almater inspired the initiative
On their driving force, he noted that they needed to send a strong message to the old students of the school to get involved in impacting their alma mater
“It was the need to give back to our alma mater where many of us were seriously groomed and equipped for what was ahead of us inspired the initiative Also the need to send a strong message to other sets both those ahead and those after and most specially the upcoming on the need to give back to the society in whatever shape or form. One cannot necessarily wait on the government for everything”.
Igene who spoke to our correspondent said nine arms of the SS1 classrooms were renovated.
“It was the entire 9 arms of the SS1 classes that were renovated. We were able to raise money through contributions from members of the alumni body. We also accepted donations from individuals”.
Speaking further, he added that the 2004 alumni is planning a reunion with the teachers, novelty match and commissioning of the classrooms which will be held on the 27th and 28th of September, 2019.
