The President of Africa Young Leaders (AYL), Enoch Israel has revealed the last discussion he had with popular TV presenter Rachel Bakam before her demise.
TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports Rachel Bakam, mother of one, died from anaemia on Tuesday at age of 38.
“We discussed on Easter day,” the President of AYL stated in a sorrowful farewell message shared on Facebook.
The message titled: Farewell my beloved friend and sister, Rachel Bakam reads:
“We discussed on Easter day. I told you that you would be one of the Judges at the forthcoming “Southern Kaduna Got Talent”, and you accepted happily. You promised to put the event on AIT through your program, Rachel the Piper.
“I always called you My mentor and crush, and you would laugh and say “haba big bro” even though you’re way older than me.
“You were the most ambitious, determined and brilliant woman I know. You have interviewed Presidents, Actors, Superstars and all.
“I interviewed you last year on my program “AYL Inspires”, and you told me how you’ve won more than 200 awards. From last year to this year, I can authoritatively confirm that you’ve added more than 50 awards to your already 200 awards collection.
“You were the best graduating student in the Department of Theatre Arts, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. You were also the Best Graduating student in the Faculty of Arts, same university.
“Rachel, why now? We have lots of projects to execute in Southern Kaduna. Why abandon me now? We were discussing about our political ambitions the other time with Audu Maikori, and he said he was proud of you. And also encouraged me to pursue mine. Why leave us now?
“You have performed many humanitarian services, fed thousands of people in IDPs and orphanage homes. You are an angel in human form. Your humility was second to none. I love you, Rachel. I can’t believe the Piper is gone.
“You’ve lived a good life. And I know God is proud of you. I hope I achieve half of what you’ve achieved. You were a role model.
“Goodbye, Rachel the Piper. Goodbye. Goodbye. Rest in peace”.
