The 10th National Assembly in Nigeria is expected to be inaugurated in the first or second week in June after the swearing-in of President-elect Bola Tinubu.

Oyefusi noted that having women lead the federal legislature would substantiate the reality of running an inclusive government.

She said it was important to uphold the provisions of the national gender policy and be intentionally gender inclusive.

The woman advocate asked political leaders to honour the judgment on the implementation of the national gender policy.

The judgement was granted in favour of Nigerian women by Honourable Justice Donatus Okorowo of the Federal High Court.

“I am using this opportunity to call on all elected lawmakers to zone the Speaker and Senate President positions to the female gender.
