Nollywood actress, Halima Abubakar, who recently joined her other colleagues in quitting the movie industry, has revealed the real reason she took the decision.
This year 2022, has seen many Nollywood stars quitting the movie industry; the likes of Tonto Dikeh, Funke Akindele and the latest one, Halima.
Through her manager, Halima revealed that she wouldn’t be starring in any movies
The ailing actress who was been embroiled in several scandals over the years announced the sad news on her Instagram page.
In a statement by her team, Halima’s wish was to stop acting.
Expressing gratitude to all her fans, she appreciated them for their love and prayers.
“Halima Abubakar quit acting we are so grateful for all the prayers. God bless you all but as from today, she will no longer act. It is her wish. We love you all. Thank you for your support. She is so downcast. She really did love acting. Thank you,” the statement added.
TheNewsGuru.com recalls that Halima had admitted to having a sexual relationship with Apostle Johnson Suleman of the Omega Fire Ministries Worldwide.
The Nigerian cleric finally reacted to several sex allegations against him by the Nollywood actress.
For months unending, the erstwhile famous actress accused the controversial cleric of reneging on his promise to marry her and said he was behind for an undisclosed life-threatening ailment that had plagued her for years.
She alleged that Suleman had sexual affairs with several actresses, including Shan George and Iyabo Ojo, a claim the cleric and his handlers ignored.
Halima, who began acting in 2001 when she played a minor role in ‘Rejected’, revealed that she had an affair with the preacher because he told her he was a divorcee with three children.
On Instagram, she said that her life was in danger and that the cleric should be held responsible for whatever occurs her.
“Pls don’t worry about me. But you can hold Johnson Suleman responsible, just in case.
“You can’t do anything, though. Nigerians are aware. If anything happens, Johnson, it’s you’’, the 37-year-old actress wrote on Instagram.
