Nigeria’s rave of the moment and queen of the track, Oluwatobiloba Amusan has won the Laureus World Breakthrough of the Year award nomination.
Amusan won laurels for herself and by extension the country with her heroics on the tracks last year.
She made screaming headlines in 2023 with her records.
She currently holds the World record in 100m hurdle with a time of 12.12secse ,she achieved the feat at the last World Athletics Championship
Amusan hugged the headlines last year after a number of impressive feats at the World Athletics Championships in Oregon, United States of America and the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.
The 25-year-old set a new world record in the 100m hurdles at the World Athletics Championships.
The Ogun state born Athlete became the cynosure of all eyes with with her wonderful off and on display on the tracks.
Tennis Stars, Elena Rybakina and Carlos Alcaraz are also nominated for the award.
The others are Scottie Scheffler, Nathan Wchen and the Moroccan national team.
