The All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) has called on the Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State to resign and apologise to the people of the state, over NBTE’s withdrawal of accreditation for the state polytechnic, and the Medical College of the Abia State University, Uturu.

APGA said such an action would show decency on the part of the Governor.

Abia State APGA Chairman, Reverend Augustine Ehiemere, made the call in a press statement.

According to the Chairman, the party had received with sadness the de-accreditation of the Abia State Polytechnic, Aba, by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE).

The statement read in part, “The All Progressive Grand Alliance is saddened by these developments and condemns in the strongest terms the callousness and financial brigandage by the PDP government in Abia State which has resulted in this continuous tale of woes.

“APGA finds it hard to understand why a polytechnic and university which are being run successfully and seamlessly by Abia sons like Prof. Gregory Ibe, who do not command the vast resources available to the state, continues to collapse in the hands of a government that pledged to deliver on the trust and expectation of the Abia people.

“Enough is enough. APGA is calling on the PDP governor of Abia State to show some decency by resigning honorably and apologising to Abia State for the misrule and directionlessness his government has foisted on the people”.

“APGA, therefore, called on the Abia masses to “take advantage of the 2023 elections which is a few months away, and ensure that Abia State is rescued from the stranglehold of the PDP by voting in an APGA government through the ballot box.
