Former Delta State Commissioner for Works, Chief James Augoye, a frontline governorship aspirant has been honoured with a Distinguished Service Award.

Augoye, a frontline governorship aspirant under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for the 2023 General Elections was honoured with the award by Jeddo Stakeholders Forum (JSF) at its 2021 Gala and Award Day on Saturday.

Reeling out the profile of Augoye before he was presented his award, JSF extolled the charismatic quality of Augoye, while affirming that the former Commissioner for Works has a reputable public service record in politics.

The forum also extolled Augoye’s humility, his rich professional work experience and meritorious contributions to the success of the Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s administration.

In his address, President of JSF, Engr. James Umukoro said the Gala and Award was put together to recognize the forum’s action founding members, who for over one decade have actively participated in enhancing the peace and development of Jeddo Community.

Umukoro further said that against the criteria outlined for the award, 16 persons were thoughtfully selected as award recipients, including Jeddo citizens, citizens of sister Okpe communities and non-indigenes living in Jeddo community.

The JSF President revealed that over the years, the forum has played a worthy role in galvanizing forces in the enthronement of good leadership necessary for sustainable peace and development.

Reacting, Augoye, represented by his amiable wife, Mary Augoye before he later joined the occasion, thanked executives and members of JSF for finding him worthy to be honoured with the award.

The governorship hopeful revealed that the Distinguished Service Award would spur him to do better in service to the community, the State and the country at large.

“On behalf of myself and my family, I want to thank the Jeddo Stakeholders Forum (JSF) for this honour bestowed on me. My family and I are grateful for this honour.

“I consider this award as an encouragement to do even more in the service to our community, our State and service to our country at large,” Augoye said.
