TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports that the court ruled in favour of a kingmaker, Aminu Babba Danagundi, who challenged the law’s propriety.

Justice Abdullahi Muhammad Liman nullified the law, ordering parties to maintain the status quo.

It would be recalled that the Kano State Government had repealed the law, leading to the dethronement of Emir Bayero and the reversal of the creation of four emirates.

The government had also re-appointed Muhammadu Sanusi II as the 16th Emir of Kano, who was previously dethroned in 2020.

The court’s ruling sets aside all steps taken by the government to implement the repealed law.
