Mr. Omololu Bishi who was promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of Police less than a month ago is dead.
Bishi, who was a former Benue State Commissioner of Police, and later in charge of Armament, died in Lagos State on Monday after a brief illness.
Meanwhile, the late AIG Omololu Bishi has been buried on Tuesday morning at the Ebony Vault in Lagos.
He was among 13 AIGs appointed by the Police Service Commission (PSC) on December 18, 2020.
His death has caused disquiet within the top echelon of the Nigerian Police Force (NPF) for fear of Coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
A top police source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said that the health condition of Bishi deteriorated on Monday.
The source disclosed that Bishi was taken for treatment at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja for an undisclosed illness.
