BREAKING: Soldiers provide back up for dethroned Emir after arrest order by Gov Yusuf

A deployment of soldiers has arrived at the mini-palace of Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero after order of his arrest by Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, Daily Trust reports.

In the early hours of Saturday, Ado Bayero returned to Kano and was welcomed by a crowd of supporters.

He later moved into the Mini- palace in Nassarawa, fueling confusion.

Reacting to the development, the governor in a statement through his spoke person, Bature Dawakin Tofa, accused Ado Bayero of creating tension in the state.

The  statement reads, “The former Emir was smuggled into Kano city last night in an attempt to forcefully return to the palace two days after being deposed by the Governor.”

“As the Chief Security Officer of the state, His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has directed the Commissioner of Police to arrest the deposed Emir with immediate effect for disturbing public peace and attempting to destroy the relative peace the state enjoys.”

Following the order, a team of soldiers moved into the palace at Nasarawa, where the 15th Emir is, after the order of the governor.
