Economic hardship: Man commits suicide in Niger state

A 26-year-old man simply identified as Okafor reportedly committed suicide by hanging himself at the Rock Avenue, Madalla area in Niger State yesterday April 2nd.

According to a resident of the area, Abdullahi Shuabu, who spoke with DailyTrust, said the deceased dropped a suicide note just before he pulled his shirt and hung himself on a tree.

His body was seen dangling from the tree by a farmer who alerted other members of the community. Shuaibu said the deceased who managed a provisions store in the area, asked his brothers to take care of his children.

“From the content of the man’s suicide note, he told his brothers to take care of his children and that he was tired of life”. he said

The body of the deceased has been deposited at Suleja General Hospital morgue.
