Scores of protesting women took to major streets in Benin, Edo State capital, on Friday to publicly reject the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its gubernatorial candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo ahead of the Edo September 21 governorship election.
The protesting women donned black wrap clothing as they stormed the street holding placards that reads: ‘An election no be war’, ‘Edo women for peace’, ‘Our votes na our power,‘ ‘Police is for all of us, ‘no intimidation on election day.’
United in their cause, the protesters, hailing from all 18 Local Government Areas of the state, gathered at the bustling marke of the state, where, they danced, sang, and voiced their demands.
