Euro 2024: Turkey beat debutant Georgia 3-1 in group F opener

Turkey on Tuesday evening defeated debutant Georgia by 3-1 in group F opener.

The Georgians made the first half of the encounter very compelling when youngster, Mikautadze cancelled out Muldur’s 25th minute goal.

Mikautadze latched on to a through pass from the right flank turned and slotted the ball past the Turkish goalie on 32nd minute of the encounter.

Upon resumption of the second half, Turkey ripped Georgia apart by scoring two more goals to send their fans into frenzy.

Turkish player Guler latched on to a loose ball near the Georgian box 18 and fired a shot that beat the opponent’s goalie for their second goal.

After winning a third consecutive corner, Georgia in a bid to equalize had all their players inside the Turkish  box 18  including their goalkeeper, however, luck ran out when they got dispossed and forward, Akturkoglu of Turkey  raced forward to tap into an open net for their third on the night.
