Residents of Atufe Road by Major Bowen Junction, Sapele, headquarters of Sapele Local Government Area of Delta State are still in shock as properties worth millions of naira were raised down by an inferno.
The cause of the fire which happened early Sunday was not immediately ascertained, TheNewsGuru.com learnt.
According to eye witness accounts, the building was 80 percent destroyed before fire fighters from Delta State Fire Service arrived at the scene, and as such, nothing tangible could be salvaged.

Our correspondent learnt that the troubled residents could not reach officials of the State Fire Service till after a lot of havoc had been done to the building.
Firefighters with Seplat Fire Service, an oil firm in Sapele, were however said to have later responded to distress calls from the people in the community, but even that could only do so much to the tragedy.
The Seplat Fire Service officials eventually succeeded in putting out the raging fire after several efforts and hours of extinguishing efforts, TheNewsGuru.com was informed.
Efforts to reach the Police Public Relations Officer for Delta State Command, Bright Edafe, was unsuccessful before press time.
