Justice Josiah Majebi has been sworn in by the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello as the Chief Judge.
Justice Mejebi takes over from Justice Richard Olorunfemi who retired on after clocking 65 years.
Performing the swearing-in on Monday, Gov. Bello charged the new Chief Judge to discharge justice without fear or favour.
Bello described the Acting Chief Judge as a man of impeccable character, and urged him to sustain the feat.

He assured the judiciary of his administration’s support, noting that his government believed in fairness, equity and Justice for all irrespective of class, religion and other identities.
In his opening remarks, the State for Justice and Attorney General, Mohammed Sani Ibrahim (SAN) described Governor Bello as a Judicial friendly man who has ensured due diligence, fairness and equity in appointment of Justices to take over the judiciary.
He said the administration has always ensured the right thing is done at all times when it comes to the issue of who emerges head of any arm of government.
He therefore congratulated the new Chief Judge and advised him to sustain the tempo and ensure quick adjudication of cases.
Speaking at the occasion, Justice Josiah Mejebi assured of the quick dispensation of justice under his leadership.
While promising to uphold the tenet of an unbiased judiciary under his administration, the new Chief Judge informed the Governor that a new Council of Judges would be inaugurated under his leadership as one of his immediate actions.
The Council, Majebi said, is to ensure that decisions made in the court are not a one man decision, but a collective one that would meet the satisfaction of all.
He charged staff of the State Judiciary to be alive to their responsibilities as that is the only way they could impress as anyone caught wanting in the discharge of their duties would be made to face the full wrath of the law.
