Ekiti State Governor, Chief Ayodele Fayose, has said he didn’t shun the meeting of Sourh-West governors in spite of political differences because that would be a great disservice to the people of the region.

He also said doing that would also not make posterity to judge him right.

He stated this in Ikeja, Lagos on Tuesday night during a meeting of the governors.

In a statement by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr Idowu Adelusi, Governor Fayose opined that there was no way any state in the region would develop its potential fully without the collaboration and support of others.

“Over a decade ago, we had a reverse of what we have now. There were five Peoples Democratic Party governors in the region and only one Alliance for Democracy, but Asiwaju Bola Tinubu fought gallantly for his state. Now I am the only PDP governor and I know that I can’t shun this group but to take advantage of synergy between us. Also, when you see a product, you can easily know the manufacturer, in Lagos, the products are showing Asiwaju Tinubu as the manufacturer.

” Now that Lagos State is part of the group, it has to play a vital role in the region. It has to help other states achieve their potential too. Concerning the call for collaboration in agriculture, Lagos can assist not only in cash but in the provision of equipments, ” he said.
