The recently crowned Miss Universe Nigeria, Chidimma Adetshina, has opened up on reason why she deactivated her X (Twitter) account.

The 23-year-old model during a recent interview with Arise TV interview, said her decision to delete her X page was motivated by the overwhelming negative feedback she encountered.

Chidimma, who revealed that she often read users’ comments, said the toxicity prompted her departure from the microblogging platform.

“I had to delete it because it became too much for me,” she shared.

“I’m the type of person who reads every comment, and that made it harder. I could spend up to 80% of my day just reading comments.”

Adetshina further explained how the constant exposure to negative feedback began to take a toll.

“It became toxic. While I still use Instagram, there was a point when I had to limit my comment section there too,” she added.

The beauty model sparked controversy during this year’s Miss South Africa pageant due to her nationality, which led to her withdrawal from the contest.

She was then invited to participate in Miss Universe Nigeria 2024, where she triumphed over 24 other talented contestants to secure the coveted Miss Universe crown.

As the newly crowned Miss Universe Nigeria 2024, Chidimma Adetshina will represent Nigeria at the Miss Universe pageant later this year in Mexico.
