JUST IN: APC postpones NEC meeting, confirms Adamu, Omisore’s resignation

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has suspended the National Caucus and National Executive Committee (NEC) meetings indefinitely.

This development comes on the heels of the resignation of the party’s national chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu.

Originally slated for July 10 and 11, these key meetings were initially postponed to the following Tuesday and Wednesday.

The acting national chairman of the APC, Senator Abubakar Kyari confirmed this postponement while addressing the press at the conclusion of an emergency NWC meeting.

In addition to announcing the meeting’s delay, Senator Kyari also confirmed the resignation of the party’s national secretary, Iyiola Omisore.

Kyari said “the NWC wishes to inform you the resignation of the National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu CON and that of the National Secretary, Senator Iyiola Omisore, CON and with this development and according to the constitution of the All Progressives Congress, (APC).

It is now incumbent on my humble self Senator Abubakar Kyari as the Deputy National Chairman North to assume the office of the acting national chairman of the All Progressives Congress, (APC)

And subsequently, also the Deputy National Secretary Barrister Festus Fuanter will now assume the office of the acting national secretary of the all Progressives Congress,(APC)

And with this recent developments in the change of leadership, I’m glad to inform everybody here that the proposed national caucus meeting slated for Tuesday the 18th, July 2023.

The National Executive Committee meeting of the All Progressives Congress slated for Wednesday 19th July 2023, as hereby been postponed, and this postponement will not be indefinite, but it will be a new date will be communicated in the near future.
